Schloss Günthersdorf bei Grünberg

Castle Günthersdorf was built as a baroque castle in the years 1685-1689 by Balthasar von Unruh.

In 1842-1843 Dorothea von Biron (born von Kurland, married with Edmond de Talleyrand-Périgord) altered the castle classicistic. The park belonging to the castle was formed by Peter Lenné.
At this time numerous personalities from culture, science and politics operated in Günthersdorf, as for example Franz Liszt, Alexander von Humboldt or Friedrich Wilhelm IV of Prussia.

As the last owner till 1945 Renate baroness von Lancken-Wakenitz is found.

In 1945 the Red Army advancing on Berlin set on fire the castle. Since then it is only a ruin in the midst of the overgrown park.
